Kale, I know you said the refurbs are on backorder, but I actually got mine today in the two weeks they quoted. There's hope for you. I'm going to swap the unit I have waiting with the one that came today (in dented box BTW). The replacement seems to be charging OK, takes photos and has a working keyboard. The scroll wheel is definitely not as tight as the factory new unit I'm using. My brother-in-law is going to buy my old units when the SK2 arrives so I can recoup some of the cash I laid out for my brand new SK and Ken's refurb. As you can probably tell from recent posts, I'm just happy to be moblogging again.
