The 87 foot diameter sphere of the Hayden Planetarium is an awe inspiring sight. A model of the Solar System hovers around the top of the sphere, which is boxed-in by a glass-covered metal structure. The base of the sphere is surrounded by a spiral walkway along which you can learn about the scale of the Universe. Inside, the space show I saw today was Harrison Ford narrating "The Search for Life in the Universe." I was a little disappointed that they didn't use the star projector. - mike lee - new york city |
