A pleasant but not wholly unexpected surprise is that the Apple iSight is packaged in an unfolding paper cube box like the iPod. The camera is larger than I expected--really the size of a bicycle grip. The perforated aluminum case lends a retro "big microphone" look, but the business end is resolutely designed to look like a black-rimmed camera lens. Apple supplies a nice clear plastic pill bottle case for the camera that will undoubtedly get lost within moments of my getting home.
