Dinner is the $1.95 "Recession Special" at Gray's Papaya at W 37 & 8th. The special is two hot dogs (all the ketchup and mustard you want) and an 8 oz. Diet Coke.

The dogs are a slight step up from what street vendors pull out of boiling yellow water. These dogs' meat and bun come off a grill, but I suspect the meat is of the same you-don't-want-to-know variety.

Signs all over the walls announce: "Bummer!! Starting soon we are forced to raise our popular 'Recession Special' to $2.45 (tax included). Please don't hate us!!"
