...again today. Two weeks after our Web 2011 workshop, my managers and I were here at the Hotel George again today with our teams and a facilitator from Organizational Learning and Performance for a retreat (4). Shortly before I was to welcome the group, I decided that I needed to print out extra copies of Maister's list of common traits of trusted advisors. I went to the hotel's "Get Connected" room (2), which offered a PC, internet, laser printer and fax (3). Miraculously, I was able to quickly log on to Gmail, access my document, and print 20 copies in two minutes. Usually, simple tasks like this on public equipment involve some kind of login gymnastics or printer jam hell. The printouts ended up being a useful addition to the day's conversation.

Tonight, I'm relaxing at home with a beer and a copy of Terminator 2 UMD (5) on my Sony PSP. My memory of today's small technology success will soon be swept away by images of robots wreaking havoc.
