Marc Schwartz, another PLWer, is working on a Java applet that automatically detects the images in the memory of any digital camera and downloads them. This functionality is already in Windows XP and Mac OS X, but the advantage to a Java applet is that it works across the major computer platforms and installs itself via the Internet. An applet like this would make uploading images to a web site from a cybercafe very easy.
