For those who don't know, this gizmo plus about 360# of salt in the pool equals chlorine generated by electrolysis.

I think this is the fastest install I've ever done. Only went to the hardware store once to buy two bushings and 400# of salt. 360# brings the salt level to 3200 PPM, which is below the level of taste, and in the "sweet spot" for the generator. The nice thing is that it makes chlorine any time the pump is on, lessening my maintenance chores considerably. The only thing that happens is that I have to add more muriatic acid to counteract the small amount of NaOH produced, but It's well worth the tradeoff!
