We're pretty sure this is the one. Neither of us has seen the movie, so someone else is going to have to confirm for us.

Typical small Texas town. Very quaint. Claim to fame is that it was used in the shooting of "Hope Floats". We'll be cruising by the house later to get some pix. Nice breezy weather today, overcast so we're not baking in the sun, which is a nice change.

Also stopped to get some super glue to glue the tires on the Emaxx. :)

Really nice little park. Kinda warm still, so the burn ban isn't that big of a deal. Reasonable coverage here. Already been tearing up the park with the Emaxx. :D

Now that winter camping season is upon us, it's time to clean the air filter on the truck. I've got a oiled-gauze type that is cleanable and reusable. It also flows lots of air, which is important. A 7.3L turbocharged diesel gulps lots of air at 15 psi boost cruising down the highway. Even more when passing...at 26 psi boost. Unrestricted airflow keeps EGT (exhaust gas temperatures) below 1,200 degrees which keeps expensive parts from melting!

New charger for my R/C car

Since the charger that came with my car is a piece of p00, I was looking for a replacement. I was able to borrow Shaun's intellipeak charger this weekend and it worked fantastic. I did some calling around and located a deluxe model at half price because it was used. Went out at lunch and snapped it up!

Well, here are some day shots of the campsite. Made a trip down to the Big Dip grocery (GeeSeven will remember the place) to pick up some snacks and Shelly made a friend. Very cute wittle puppy. Apparently is the neighborhood dog, and the happiest little mutt I've seen in a long time. Store owner said "don't you want to take it?" and of course we do, but then...uh, we'll have a dog!

Also, got some pix of the R/C garage. Got my RC-10 there, and Shaun was nice enough to loan me his charger AND his Emaxx! Very, very extremely cool. Lots of room to run out here, unfortunately, the ground is mostly flat. Still loads of fun though. Also pictured is the 17 year old (!) Sanyo battery pack from the last time I was playing with R/C cars. I bought it new, but never used it. Tried to fast charge it last night and it wouldn't got. Tried the slowe 1A charge rate and and after 3 or so hours, it charged! I stuck it in my buggy and got a respectable run out of it, considering that it's a 1200mAh battery. I let it cool, then stuck it back on the charger on the 3A fast charge. It actually took the fast charge this time! Ran it again and it works perfect. I'm totally amazed.

Stay tuned for more gratuitous camping pix!
