Last weekend I shipped my sister her birthday present, a dvd/vhs combo player. We went down to the ups store to ship it out, along with some other items. The dvd player box was still sealed, never opened. We handed it over to the girl behind the counter to place it in a plain brown box (so it didn't scream "steal me!") and she taped that all up too. We gave her our $12.21 and went on our way, placing our trust in UPS and their employees. This afternoon I received a voicemail from my sister saying "thanks for the empty box ha ha where's my present?" Apparently the outer box was opened, the inner box opened, everything but the styrofoam removed and then the outside box taped back up. She realized it wasn't a joke when she saw that the shipping label said it was 15lbs. She called UPS and they started an investigation. Here's hoping they reimburse us for the value of the player. I hate shipping stuff. :P
