ahhh...the joys of a turboprop Fri 11.15.02 5:03pm PST #1394 |
![]() ![]() I am about to leave Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was here all week doing training on some new software. Oklahoma City was nice. I was here with a coworker, so I showed her around the city. I have a lot of family here, so I am somewhat familiar with the area. We made it to the memorial for the victims of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. That is a beautiful memorial. If anyone is ever in Oklahoma City, you should definitely see it. We also ate at Johnnies and Tapwerks. Johnnies is the restaurant I have to go to every time I come here. It's kind of an all American dinner place with great grill items, big servings, and a family atmosphere. Tapwerks is a beer joint in Bricktown, which is the renovated commercial area of downtown OKC. But now, it's back to beautiful Austin. After a day in Kansas City, three days in North Carolina, and five days in OKC, I am definitely ready to go home. (all though I really wouldn't mind going back to Chapel Hill...see previous posts). So now the captain is backing away from the gate, en route for a 36 minute flight to DFW. The airplane is a twin turbo prop with three seats across on each row. That is not a typo. There are three seats across on ten rows. That's thirty people. How they make money on this, I have no idea. This is a tiny plane (for flying commercial). I should also mentionthat this is the hardest plane seat I have ever been in. UP UP AND AWAY! - Phil IM: z6p6tist6 E-MAIL: zapatista@tmail.com |
