| Text Field Truncation, Tee Hee Thu 02.17.05 5:48am PST #12448 |
![]() ![]() ![]() While typing in a short blurb about myself into a Meetup.com profile form earlier this week, I realized there was a 250 character text field limit that clipped my last sentance to a funny result. I originally typed this: Now I direct a team of people in Washington, D.C. who produce content, publish e-mail newsletters and manage message boards for AARP.org. Which became this (emphasis added): Now I direct a team of people in Washington, D.C. who produce content, publish e-mail newsletters and manage mess I laughed out loud at my desk and rewrote: Now I direct a team of people in Washington, D.C. who produce content for AARP.org. - mike lee - washington, dc |

Then we met up with Professor Ariely for some stimulating conversation at Legal Seafoods on Main Street. - mike lee - cambridge, ma |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Carlos, Noah and Kelly of John Maeda's Physical Language Workshop are giving my colleages Amy and Michael the background on the group's projects. Among other things, we're looking at a prototype of a sensetable, which can simultaneously track the location of several specially-tagged pucks (3), and Noah is demoing the custom-built RFID reader module (4) as applied to navigating large digital picture picture archives. - mike lee - cambridge |
| Aliens of the Deep Wed 02.16.05 5:06am PST #12437 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After a nice dinner at our hotel's Black Sheep Restaurant, Amy G, Michael and I took a taxi through the Ted Williams Tunnel (1) to the Simons IMAX Theater (2) to catch the new 3D movie Aliens of the Deep(3). The smiles you see under our 3D glasses (5) are of three people who were amazed by the super-high resolution footage of the exotic creatures (4) which inhabit the micro-ecologies around hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. After the movie, we enjoyed the warm night and walked over to the domed archway at Rowes Wharf (6). - mike lee - cambridge, ma |
