The local video rental store has a picture of Patricia Voorhees wielding a knife in Friday the 13th. The note taped on says REWIND OR DIE. Good thing we mostly watch DVDs. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |

I'm clearing out the memory of the hot dogs and Filet o' Fish of the last two evenings at a french (oops, freedom) restaurant near my hotel. The 14 Wall Street is the name and address of the restaurant that occupies what was the 31st floor penthouse of J.P. Morgan. Dinner is the "Downtown for Dinner" prix fixe at $20.03. My choices: organic baby greens with balsamic dressing, pan seared salmon steak with winter vegetables in a lemon almond butter sauce, and warm apple gratin almond ice cream with apple cider sauce. OK, here's the scene at the McDonalds on Broadway in the East Village as I prepare to blog via the restaurant's WiFi service. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |

... almost completed. The McDonalds next to The Easy Internet Cafe is activating the WiFi with valuemeal internet access tomorrow! The guy at the register handed me this flyer. To find out what locations are offering this deal, visit www.mcdwireless.com for more information. I may come back tomorrow night or later this week. It's fitting that America's largest McDonalds restaurant is offering internet access next to the world's largest internet cafe. Heh, just chatted with a Cisco tech who was asking the girl sweeping the floor about the wireless access. - mike lee - |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dinner is the $1.95 "Recession Special" at Gray's Papaya at W 37 & 8th. The special is two hot dogs (all the ketchup and mustard you want) and an 8 oz. Diet Coke. The dogs are a slight step up from what street vendors pull out of boiling yellow water. These dogs' meat and bun come off a grill, but I suspect the meat is of the same you-don't-want-to-know variety. Signs all over the walls announce: "Bummer!! Starting soon we are forced to raise our popular 'Recession Special' to $2.45 (tax included). Please don't hate us!!" - mike lee - |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm at B&H Photo just soaking in (OK drooling) the amazing array of photo, video and optical gadgets. I only had about 15 minutes to look around and they don't stock the Aiptek 1.3 Mega PenCam I was looking for. Just as well I only had a short time to look around--I'm out without spending a dime. I am leaving with the 800 page paper catalog tho... - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ... traveling from The Holiday Inn in Beaver Falls, PA to The Club Quarters off Wall Street in Manhattan with a stop at home in Baltimore in between. Talk about a major shift in cultures. I just paid the taxi driver a few extra bucks to let me photograph a bunch of the user interface screens of the interactive touch screen system. This is the first time I've seen it as it's only a pilot project in a few cabs. I'll be posting some of the pix on my main blog. Oy, start of another full work week here in NYC/NJ. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |
