I just got the news that Diana Krall is officially engaged to Elvis Costello. This is truly a sad day for all MANkind. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |
| Empire Moon Mon 05.12.03 7:31pm PDT #4554 |
![]() ![]() Ahhh sweet city scenery. I just finished shooting about 200 frames of a photo composition containing The Empire State Building, a flag and a cloud-veiled moon. I'm sitting on a fire hose valve in front of 1333 Broadway near West 35th Street with the Coolpix on a tripod. It's a pleasant 60 degrees and the rain clouds seem to be clearing. Some of people walking by paused to try to take the same picture; most smiled and kept walking. A cop said, "hey, that's a Nikon 995. Great camera." And then I chatted with an artist from Jersey City named Habib who excitedly shared my passion for making images. I gave him the URL to curiousLee. Nice way to end a day of meetings on multi-national web site interaction strategies, and entreprenurial information architecture. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |
| An Information Architect's Throbbing Brain Fri 05.09.03 5:18pm PDT #4529 |
![]() ![]() ![]() This information architect's forehead is pulsating from a productive but intense meeting with senior management on the future vision of the gateway website of a $67 billion dollar global corporation. The little boxes and arrows he's been drawing in PowerPoint will be presented in a few weeks to some guys that are an arm's length away from the Chairman. Having two draft Heineken beers on the Amtrak Acela Express train back to Baltimore helped the brain pain go away. I may go back for a third. - mike lee - new york and baltimore - curiouslee.com |

Ok tip to myself: pasting long URLs doesn't work well using the web portal on a Mac. Maybe now: autotracing |

It just occured to me to try autotracing some Sidekick camera images in Flash MX. The results came out very artsy, and would work well for making large impressionistic prints. Some basic settings are suggested in a downloadable PDF, but whatever software you might try, just experiment to see what happens. - mike lee - |

![]() ![]() ![]() Waiting here in an auditorium at the AMC Towson Theater for X-Men 2 to start. Let the mutant mania begin. Beware, parking in town will be tricky as the town festival is in progress. | Bulky burger Sat 05.03.03 12:11pm PDT #4459 |
This is my mozzarella burger served up for lunch at Jackson Hole Burgers. At 1 1/2" thick and weighing 7oz. I was able to stand it up on edge! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Shots from the Cooper-Hewitt's second triennial design exhibit. We took a leisurely stroll past 80 artifacts on two floors. A broad range of product design, textiles, crafts, and new media were represented. The show runs through the year and is well worth a visit or pick up a copy of the show catalog Inside Design Now. - mike lee - |
