I just saw this full page ad in The Baltimore Sun announcing overnight delivery of books and DVDs in the mid-Atlantic. If you order by 11am on a weekday, they will have the goods to you before 7pm the next day, and shipping is free if the order is over $25. The service is available in all of Maryland state and Washington, D.C. Check the web site for more locations. Faster Delivery is an extension of Same Day Delivery, which has been available in Manhattan for some time. When I was living there in a hotel, I loved being able to order books on my Sidekick in the morning to have them appear automagically on my nightstand when I returned to my room. Even though I walk past a BN at Washington's Union Station in the mornings now, it'll be fun to place an order on the train for next evening arrival at home in Baltimore.

I will likely be off hiptop Nation and my main blog for a few days as I get used to the commute from Baltimore and wrap up some files for my old employer in the evenings.

I meant to say it sooner, but thanks to MikePop for all the hard work on the Halloween Hunt, and to those in Team MAW who particated.

Not long ago, this room was a beige-walled, cable-laden home office stuffed with computers, project files and books. With three weeks to go before the big birthday, it is a bright open space aglow in fresh yellow paint. For the first few weeks after her homecoming, the baby will move from crib to changing table to parent's arms with immature eyes preventing any awareness of her special room. The dog, however, loves the extra space.
