| Dad's Insta-tree Fri 12.26.03 8:55pm PST #7739 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We got home to Baltimore a couple hours ago and are settled in. We don't normally decorate the house for the holidays because we go out to my in-laws and my family's big holiday is Chinese New Year. But this year, I decided to assemble one of those 6 ft. Spiral Christmas Trees to make the living room a little more festive for another wave of family arriving tomorrow. I feel like the crazy dad in the movie A Christmas Story who fussed and cussed while getting the house decorated. As you can see in the last photo, mom and baby are very happy for me. - mike lee |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On a stop into Suter's Meats, an old-fashioned butcher shop on the main street in Greenville, Ohio, my father-in-law thoughtfully asked the butcher for a bone to give to our dog. The butcher, who must have been overcome by the holiday spirit--or just feeling mischievious--returned with a massive 10 lb. bone. Riding on the same seasonal spirit, we brought the bone home. The dog, not having heard the old adage that you shouldn't eat anything bigger than your head, eagerly attacked her prize, and must have been thinking, "I LOVE this country!" - mike lee - |

| Phonecam Photos Make Great Magnets Sun 12.21.03 8:46pm PST #7666 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I just took phonecam pix of our baby from here, here, and here, adjusted color slightly in Adobe Photoshop, and laid them out in Illustrator to print as refridgerator magnets! The layout was printed to a cheapo Epson Stylus Photo 820 onto Xerox Color Inkjet Magnets sheets. These sheets are flexible magnetic substrate covered with a glossy inkjet paper. The Xerox sheets come four to a pack for about $11.00 at Staples. When printed, the sheets are cut with scissors or a knife. The finished 2x2" magnets look great and will be a holiday hit with our families. Who says low-rez phonecam images suck? - mike lee - making martha proud |
