Absolutely nothing going here at the Inner Harbor except the seagull squawking at me from atop the light post to my left.

Blue purple morning light is creeping across the sky while I fill my gas tank and clean out the car.

I'm waiting for an omlette at the Papermoon Diner on 25th Street. This is probably Baltimore's wackiest 24 hour diner. The interior is entrusted with toys and found objects. It's a good place for a marathon blogger to come for a second wind.

Whoa, the omlette is here already--the cook whipped it out in like 4 minutes.

Cheers Rick
Hey Rick, thanks forcheering me on, and giving my second blog post to complete this for hour. Now I'm good until a little after 5am eastern.

Going Outside
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayLike some of the other blog-a-thoners, I'm fading hard just sitting at home in front of my computer. Since the baby is sleeping well, I'm going to go out and visit some all night destinations. Riding around in the car and making some stops should help me knock out the next couple hours of posts.

Cianna is sleeping well tonight. She didn't have her 1-ish wake-up, so she might just sleep through the night until around 6am. Woo hoo. The sleep I'm not getting has gone to her.

I was just reviewing an edited set of photos I took during the Simplicity workshop I attended a little over two weeks ago at the MIT Media Lab. Student teams were challenged to stay up as late as necessary in one night to develop a creative new alternative for e-mail. All of the team projects were fascinating, but I personally thought the Play-Doh printer shown here gave the best demo. In just one all nighter, this team built an e-mail gateway that would convert ASCII text into codes that would drive a group of solenoids to imprint dot matrix characters on extruded strips of Play-Doh. It must be nice to be a young student and have the energy to be brilliant without any sleep.

Other Mobloggers in the Blog-A-Thon
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayI've been checking in on Mie Kennedy's blog Kokchi ("a warm and comfortable place"), and Heidi Schallberg's me, my life + infrastructure. Both are blogging wirelessly from a phonecam-enabled device. Mie uses a Nokia 7610 cell phone, and Heidi has a Danger Sidekick/Hiptop like mine.

They're hanging in there it seems as we enter the toughest hours of the marathon. Mie is documenting things around her house and Heidi seems to have a second wind.

Digital Photo Wallet
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayMy wife has been storing digital photos on her Tungsten T3 for a few months now and whips the device out instead of a paper photo album.

Since retiring my Pocket PC and switching to a Palm Zire 72, I've been doing the digital photo album thing myself with a utility called Resco Viewer. With a 256mb SD card, I can store thousands of reduced resolution versions of my photos. It's a great way to show off my photography portfolio too.
