In addition to the new larger car seat we bought today, we're trying out a BabyTrend backpack-style baby carrier. Cianna has pretty much maxed out the Baby Bjorn. As you can see in photo 4, Cianna applauds our choice. It will only be a matter of time before my ponytail becomes reins when I'm carrying her. "Giddyup Daddy!"

I tried this shot when she was awake, but she bats and grabs at the camera, and I risk getting baby slobber on my lens. Shown here is a Sidekick camera macro shot of the LCD screen of my Olympus displaying the original macro shot.

We go to the Rocky Run Tap & Grill near our house once a week for lunch or dinner. It's a kid-friendly place where little customers are called the Rocky Runts. This local chain of restaurants is known for its themed-ephemera booths (Elvis, Sponge Bob, Far Side), free buckets of peanuts and large collection of bottled hot sauces. A few of the wackier sauce labels are pictured here.

In Baltimore City, we're only seeing some heavy rain as the once-deadly Hurricane Charley passes east of us over the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Though we aren't going to have serious flooding here, Cianna just pulled a 20 oz. cup of ice water into mommy's lap for the second time this month. We should have the name Hurricane Cianna added to the national list.

At almost nine-months-old, Baby Cianna has just about outgrown her first car seat. She looked so tiny and fragile under the seat straps when we brought her home from the hospital. Now at 20 lbs. and almost 29 inches long, she's an active and almost always happy kid that's able to climb out of the seat when not buckled in. We going shopping for a bigger seat this weekend.

Baby Cianna and I are practicing "clap your hands" in the back seat of the car as mommy drives south down I-95. And baby is also listening to ah jeung doy, which is Chinese for clap your hands, because her grandma says that all day. Cianna is also learning to do "high five" ("you go girl!"). The blur of the passing roadside reminds me how fast time is passing: Cianna is almost nine-months-old.
