I saved these photos notes-to-self from yesterday's lunch at Zaytinya to post today because the

network has been flaky the last two days.

Zaytinya is a middle eastern restaurant near our office which offers:

An extensive menu of different hot and cold Mezzes â€" “little dishes” â€" reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Greek, Turkish and Lebanese cuisine.

My choices were all memorable starting with the “Lebanese Taverna” style hommus -- which was one of the best I've had ever -- steamed asparagus with ladolemono and Greek Oregano; Kasarli Ali Nazik Kebabi skewered ground lamb with kefalograviera cheese and eggplant-yogurt puree and the Turkish Delight dessert consisting of walnut ice cream with Skotidakis Farm goat’s milk yogurt mousse, honey-vanilla gelee, orange-caramel sauce and caramelized pine nuts.

To celebrate 10 years of being online and the expansion of our web team, we had an open house in our offices today for clients and friends. Guests visited one of three departmental information booths to learn about our recent organizational changes. There were also party games set up around the office, and plenty of snacks including funnel cakes, pretzels, cake, Dove Bars and popcorn. But the big hook were the raffle prizes, which consisted of a silver iPod mini, a $75 gift certificate from Circuit City and some 64mb USB keychain drives. A lot of fun was had for two hours and we enjoyed all the posters and decorations that adorned the walls. Note our first web development server, a Silicon Graphics Indigo, in photo 3. Photo 5 shows our digital info and photo display made from a hacked laptop.

Amy pulled our lodge room's curtains open early this morning to reveal a drop-the-baby gorgeous view of Rocky Gap State Park's 243-acre manmade Lake Habeeb. The surrounding hills were lit by patches of orange light from the crespuscular rays that marched slowly across the fall landscape. The scene was all too beautiful to properly record with a phonecam, but I did manage some high resolution frames with Cianna in one arm and my Olympus digital camera at the end of the other. After breakfast with Cianna's grandparents (pic 6), we took a hike up the Lakeside Loop Trail to the park's Aviary where among other birds, we got a super-close-up look at a Great Horned Owl. Then further up was the Lemel Bucy Family Cemetary, a burial site used in the 1800s. We stopped on the fishing pier at the western end of the lake by the dam before returning to the car for the ride home. With our $59 hotel discount coupons in hand, we're likely to make a trip back this winter.

We were all ready to present Cianna with a cake and candle at dinner in the hotel restaurant, but she fell asleep. All the visiting of the last two days in celebration of her first birthday must have caught up with her. But she perked up enough after dinner to grab a leopard print purse in the giftshop before bath and bed. It was a good night for snuggling with a cold rain rolling over the valley in sheets.

Cianna's current routine when she is first dropped into her car seat is to dive with arms waving into the rear hatch area and then 180° around to the front seats. I call it "Fore and Aft Safety Check." Mommy calls it stalling.
