This Saturday we made our way to the public market for a children's literature festival. There were plenty of local authors and illustrators there, and we picked up a few new items. Also present were my two favorite author/illustrators I've discovered since having a kid - Grace Lin and Rosemary Wells. We got to speak briefly with Grace and some kids from a local school put on a play based on one of her books. Rosemary Wells gave a talk that was simultaneously interesting to kids and adults. A perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday.

Things were stalled due to lack of finding a cheap desk, since the budget for this project is pretty much $0. But I came across a display model desk on clearance, so we're good to go. As an extra bonus, it has a couple of bookshelves built in to one end, so I could bring out some of the books that were still stored in boxes from when I moved a year ago. Progress!

Just to prove that nerd waters run deep, here are pics of some stikcers I came across today on an old folder of guitar music. Now, I play video games at a professional level and can't even tune a guitar. Such is my path in life :)
