8 ears or corn and 12 brats. 12 brats look pretty lonely on this monster grill! :D

Folks decided to get a new grill, so I got their old one. Needed some repair parts, but after replacing everything that was worn out, it's like a new grill again. Now I have enough grid space to cook for a small army!

I was going to take a picture of some steaks on the grill for scale, but after they were done, I was so excited that I took 'em off and started eating and forgot the pic. Whups!

Got it cooling a cup of water. If you look close, you can see all the condensate that has formed on the surface of the metal plate from the cold temps.

I'm really impressed with the performance, considering that it's only running at 10 volts. In a car, it would run closer to 14 volts, if the car was on. I've seen 36 degrees with this current setup, I'm sure a full power setup would avoid the wet condensate problem by making ice!

Got turned on to Blingo a few weeks ago by a friend here at work. Basically, every time you search for something, you have a chance to win a prize. The backend is provided by google, so I get the same results I'm used to. Well, today I won! It's only a single movie ticket, but that means a two-for-one night at the movies.

It's also multi level, so the friend who referred me gets a ticket too. If anyone wants to sign up, email me and I'll send you a referral so you can sign up under me...that way we all win! :D

I've always wanted one of these, but the parts were always too darn expensive to waste on a gizmo such as this. Enter Target with a thermoelectric cooler on clearance for $7!

So what follows is a graphic extraction (HULK SMASH!) of the TEC. A bit of ghetto rigging to make it stable enough to support a can (or cup of coffee in heating mode) and further extraction (destruction) of an old computer to get a power supply capable of delivering the almost 4A required to run it. A quick check with my infrared thermometer reveals 38 degrees....so I put it to work!

I love cheap hacks!

Sun dog
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayNot sure how well this is going to show up, but if you look closely to the right of the sun you'll see a sundog. Its basically a reflection of the sun in the ice crystals present in the higher elevations. Pretty neat.

First time dining here. Pretty good grub, but overpriced I think. I dropped $8.66 for their "general tso's" equivalent with fried rice and a glass of water. A bit high for lunch I think.

Especially when down the street I can get better stuff with hot and sour soup with a spring roll for $5.95

Ah well. They get my money once.

p.s. pei wei, snow peas and carrots do NOT belong in the general's chicken!
