Well we closed on the house without a hitch. I asked about the pool chemicals and the seller said "it's out of chlorine"

No duh.

The pool was green.

The prescription from the pool store:

1/2 gallon Muratic acid 10 lbs calcium chloride 4 lbs shock Fill floating chlorinator and enjoy

Weeee! I have a pool!

This was pretty amazing. The new house has a jacuzzi tub but it is cracked and otherwise messed up. So we need a new tub (and pump, because that doesn't work either.)

My folks found this tub on clearance, regular price $1,757.14. Clearance price: $100.

That's like 94% off.

w00t! New tub inna haus!!!!

And yeah, it fit in the Excursion just fine. :)

Were busy packing up our house. We procured most of our boxes from local mom 'n pop (or is that apu?) liquor stores. Which one of the choices below below will the neighbors think when they see us move in?:

Found this while going thru my stuff in preparation for the great move of '04. It's a tie-tac made by Intel, presumably of a i486-DX reject. It looks really cool and is a great way to establish yer geekdom to others.

Also found while going through my closet, a real i486-DX chip. I tossed the motherboard, but saved the chip for posterity. This one is the 50MHz flavor.

As I sit here with my 1GHz laptop (soon to be followed by its 3.2GHz replacement) I am amazed at how far we've come in a short time.

We close on the 19th of July, and I fear that date is going to be here far sooner than we want it to be. So, I'm making boxes and Shelly is emptying closets. We got two done last night, but those were easy ones. We have two nasty ones to do yet. I don't even want to think about the garage. We also decided to get a moving company to move the big items, since we don't feel like killing ourselves doing it.

Shelly picked up one of thes for me on sale the other day. The idea is that you spray your car down with soap, wash it and then rinse it with deionized water, which dries to a spot free finish without using a towel.

If it works, it's gonna kick booty!
