| Let the pronto programming begin! Thu 11.18.04 7:06am PST #11282 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, I've started in on programming my Philips Pronto remote in earnest. The ProntoEdit tool is fantastic for making the screens look exactly how you want them to look. I've taken pix of most of the screens I've got set up so far. Nice thing is that many people have shared their config files so there's a lot of the work that already has been done. The layouts aren't finished, so the UI is somewhat ugly on many of the screens, but for right now it's function over form. Also, now that I can send commands that aren't on my remote, I've automated the switching process from sat to dvd viewing. Next step will be buying an IR to X10 converter so I can control the room lighting with the remote. Then, when I hit the "dvd" button, all the components will switch over and the room lights will automatically dim to a preset level. Pretty cool, huh? Michael (wireless) IM: mwsmith70 |
| weeee Pronto TSU2000 is here Tue 11.16.04 12:18pm PST #11265 |
![]() ![]() ![]() I've been keeping UPS and DHL busy this week. Sold my old remote as it wouldn't work with my new DVR. Now I've got this spiffy, fully programmable Philips Pronto....which I've lusted after for years. The 2nd gen BW models are quite affordable now, even when getting them with the rechargable batteries and docking station. =) Michael (wireless) IM: mwsmith70 |
| w00t! 921 DVR is here! Tue 11.16.04 5:14am PST #11261 |
![]() ![]() ![]() After waiting for a year, they finally dropped the price. Now I can record sat SD and HD, along with local SD and HD...and do all the nifty "trick play" stuff like pause live tv, etc. It'll record 180 hrs of SD or 25 hrs of HD. It didn't take long for me to really enjoy the added functionality...this is cool stuff!! Michael (wireless) IM: mwsmith70 |

| Grill renovation Fri 11.12.04 9:06am PST #11221 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, the grill made it thru HAVOC but that's about it. The left flametamer burned all the way thru. I ordered new ones at $7.50 each because the ceramic brick upgrade cost $45!!! These lasted 2 years, so I figure the grill will be 8 years old before I start loosing money. Then upon further inspection of the burners, the left one has cracked and is leaking gas. The center one looks like it won't be far behind. They are cast iron and I don't even want to think of how much that is going to cost me. :( Did I mention the cooking grids are going too? I feel 0wn3d. Michael (wireless) IM: mwsmith70 |
