Just made the short interconnect you see from the mp3 player to the amp last night. My friend bought the orginal cable, then I cut it down and added new connectors, making me a short jumper and him a long one. Only thing is that the cable (6' long and with two molded connectors) was $2.79, but the new plugs were $3.99 EACH.


Ouch.

Took a bit of rearrangement, but I got it all to fit! Highly reccomended project...about $25 for a audiophile quality headphone amp.

I haven't built anything electronic in quite a while, so I decided to build this cMoy headphone amp . The main reason for doing this is because amps in portable devices are notoriously underdesigned (hello, iPod?) and have a hard time driving low impedence loads. Anyway, hacked it together last night and it is surprisingly clear and quite powerful on the bottom end. Now I just have to do a bit of rearranging to get it to fit in an Altoids tin.

Leaving on a 7:30 flight to Toronto gets you to the airport pretty early....before Micky d's opens. I'd much rather have an egg McMuffin than a donut. Only 30 more minutes now....

Well, our dryer bit the dust, and we could just about buy a new set for the repair costs....so we did. Got a really neat GE Profile Harmony washer/dryer set. The washer is one of those high efficency/low water use units. Washes in very little water and is extremely quiet. Neat thing is after the clothes are washed, the washer communicates with the dryer via a data cable and sets the dryer up to properly dry the clothes. Pretty l33t stuph!

Found a HUGE one at shopper's drug mart in Mississauga. Chocolate outside, and white chocolate inside. Quite tasty actually. Has a neat toy inside that you assemble and make a dolphin jump through a hoop.
