Kickin' it in the hammock

While out spending some hard earned money, I found a hammock that looked just perfect. It's only big enough for fruit, but even bananas deserve a break, right? Maybe I can get a hamster and teach it to sleep in the hammock.

It'll always having something to eat.

Started work in my new cube this week. Better than the training room, but still pretty empty. Most things are on the computer, so there is little need for the big filing cabinets they give me. Hmm, I wonder if a mini-fridge is alright to bring in?

Visited College Station this weekend. 3+ hours either direction isn't fun for such a short trip, but it was great to see some old friends again. Hmmm, when do friends become "old friends"? After you don't see them for a year? A month? Or is it just when you no longer have regular contact with them? And what's "regular contact"? Oh well, I'll let someone else worry about it.

Went to see Daredevil with some friends that I'm visiting for the weekend. Not as good as Spider-man, but alright. Almost got hit on the way out of the parking lot. Guess the dude with the van full of friends and towing a trailer was trying to drive blind. I'm glad I'm not attaching pictures of my wrecked car to this post.

Unfortunately, the sidekick doesn't get a very good reception here, but my balcony (porch) seems to have slightly better reliability. No broadband access hooked up yet, so for now the sidekick is all I got. If anyone from T-mobile is listening, North Dallas at George Bush & Midway could use another GSM/GPRS tower.

Just thought I'd take a couple pictures of the plants my mom keeps in the room I'm staying in while I visit. The automatic timer that turns the lights on at 8 am is just wonderful after a late night.

Hung out some more and listened to my friend record his part for one of his band's new songs. The studio doubles as an apartment for the lead singer/guitar player. They should be playing SXSW, so if you're in town try to catch See Live Tigers!

Ate at Fire Bowl Cafe with the folks... I wasn't feeling so well, but the sesame chicken helped... IM'd with my grandma on the phone in Radio Shack while my brother bought audio cable, she seemed a little confused...
