No pics just text of story about complete facial transplants 'possible in six months' This sounds like something from the Twilight Zone/Outer Limits. This might be right up KOP's alley. CNN Health is also running a video -- go there at your own risk. There are references in the articles I've come across to the movie Face/Off with John Travolta & Nicholas Cage.

I'm @ my dentist office, not the hospital, right?

So on the way up the stairs to the office a paramedic truck pulls up & about 5 paramedics come up the stairs to my dentist's office. I'm hearing that my dentist was working on a woman that had just rec'd some meds from her eye dr. & when she got her lidocaine injection she had an allergic reaction.

Seems she''l be OK, because she was able to walk out the door downstairs on her own.

Ms. C, you're next....

HN looks great, Mr. Jellyfish....cleaner & easier to read on PC & on the SK....no wonder we haven't had a Weds. theme day for a few weeks...but who's counting ;) Great job. . . hmmm, on side note I wonder if this may have contributed to some of the outages & other weirdness going on w/SKs (First hackers sighted in high speed mobile phone arena)...thanks for the story, drewg....

I'm "experimenting" with D-Link Air+ DI-614 2.4GHz wireless broadband router, wireless cardbus adapters & USB adapter. I had tried using Netgear's stuff, but my PC could'nt see the router. Setting up th D-Link stuff was much easier & the h/w less bulky...just gotta make sure WEP has outside stuff on lockdown.

I've been to every corner of the house (1600 sq ft total) & the lowest signal strength was 79% & link quality range is 90-100%. I expect that very few people in my neck of the woods are into WiFi. All the Starbucks in my area have T-Mobile Hotspot for WiFi...maybe I'll check that out too, the next time I go for a gingerbread latte :) = Happy..Happy.

is expected the rest of this week. Wind gusts as high as 77 mph have been whipping across CA, toppling power lines & causing widespread electrical outages. As many as 125K SoCalEdison & 50K LA Dept of Water & Power customers were plunged into darkness @ one point. Even Rancho Cucamonga is on the "radar" .

These pics show the looming cloud(s)from the dust/debris generated from the high winds this a.m. on my way to work. A few fires were sparked here & there...and then there was a 3.7 earthquake in San Ramon @ 4:30a today. Hoping that everyone that is traveling, esp. via airplane leaving to/from CA has a safe trip.

Outside today...Santa Ana winds are blowing up all kids ot dirt, breaking off tree limbs and trashcans in the steets and lawns in my neighborhood. Usually when the winds are like this, they donlt let high profile vehicles...big rigs on the 10, 15 fwys. This weather is gonna do wonders for people with allergies, etc.

Right now I'm sitting in the dr's office. I got here late. I usually sit around for about 30-45 mins before I get to go in.

"vogue" for pics...at least I got a pics of some of the eats before they was devoured. Well, everyone has gone home and I'm going too. Potluck turned out with a good variety....even two folks that on the other side of our cube want to be on "THE LIST" the next time we have a potluck because people forget that they are over yonder. Anyways, TGIF & Happy Payday :)

I had one of those before I decided to go grocery shopping at 10 pm last night. Those things are SOOOOO GOOD....but the one I had last night was kinda on the watered down side..good thing I ordered that slice of Starbuck's lemon bundt cake....to make up for it. I like the latte's better when they taste more like gingerbread....they also have peppermint latte's too. I was talking to one of the Starbucks' counter folks about the T-Mobile Hotspot....he said all customers need is one of those 802.11 cards and just plug your laptop into their electrical socket in the wall & you're good to go...they even have prepaid cards now for the HotSpot...
