C-SPAN and other major networks until 8:00pm(?)...I'm in my "politic" mode where I end up watching way too much CNN, MSNBC, and listening to KFWB. I stay on this kick for days at a time and then I'll tune out local/national news for a few weeks because of the information overload which turns out to be more negative than positive. George W. is racking up standing ovations. I was listening to the radio this a.m. and they reported that since 9/11 event, they hold back one cabinet type member from appearing at the State of the Union address in case something were to happen at the Capitol, there would be a high ranking official to step in.

I live in California and we're deep in the $$ deficit hole. They said that vehicle registration will go up an addt'l $180 per vehicle, closing of hospitals, layoffs, etc. mostly due to the power crisis we had a few years ago....it's the trickle down theory. I was talking to a former coworker who said that the local job market is so bad that programmers are applying for first-level help desk positions. It'll be interesting to see what our state leaders have to say on the record about Bush's State of the Union address. ....that's your civics/current affairs lesson for today boyz & girlz....

Verizon happens to be my DSL provider...I expect a change in their Verizon Online "diagnostic online tool" to more "big brother" after getting called on the carpet by the US District Court. Verizon will probably start amping up their DSL service fees for power data users http://www.hiptop.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=16433#16433

Last night I had a few hours to myself and decided to get some BBQ. Beef/pork ribs, tri-tip, hot link, chicken and sweet potatoe pie. Bingo, our German Shepherd made out on the deal with humongo sized bones from the ribs. Every time I eat ribs, I think of Chris Rock's character in I'm Gonna get you Sucker...when he went into a BBQ restaurant and asked how much it would cost to buy ONE rib and then asked how much it would cost for a sip of soda because he wanted to get rid of some pocket change. He was hassling the BBQ proprieter about the cost and then towards the end of the scene pulled out a roll of cash....

I'm waiting on DramaKween to get her 1st break from the PSAT seminar. Right now they're prepping the kids on what to expect on the test. We're @ University of Irvine. It's a beautful, clean campus in the center of what has been called, "god's country"....you'd have to get a handle on this by loking at money magazine on best places to live or Orange County Register newspaper from a few years ago.

We'll probably go to Fatburger's or InNOut for lunch and then while she's taking her PSAT, I'll scope out the HOTSPOT wi-fi @ local Starbucks.

It's late...everyone else is asleep....I'm up watching a "Beautiful Mind....second time this week. I want to see if I have a different perspective on the movie than I did the first time around. Right now, John Nash aka Russell Crowe is freaking out because he thought it was mathematically improbable that he would lose a game.

It's now dawning on me that during all those years that he was talking to his "imaginary friends" that no one else was around to "see" these interactions. His "friend" Charles kept him from self-destructing. How could he have been such a slacker by not going to classes and end up winning the Nobel Peace prize? After Nash goes to work for the Pentagon that when the schizophrenia really cuts loose. The "war room" scene is trippy because it's unclear as to whether those miliatary head honchos were imaginary since he went to the Pentagon a few times to crack Russian codes. Wow, what an elaborate imagination he had. OK, no more spoiler and plus I'm getting sleepy ;()

I have my own "homebrew" WiFi setup @ home...and it's a cool thing to have my laptop buddy up with my SideKick whilst watching Sanford & Son and Cosby Show Marathons on Nick@Nite....

Sitting in a Using JavaScript for Domino R5 Applications at Knowledge Alliance that ends today. I got my SideKick and it picks up a really good signal in this class. Two fellow students work @ Aeropsace supporting engineers and physicsts(sp?). I took all the classes needed which to prepare me for Certified Lotus Professional....now it's time to hit the books on my own and prepare for the exams. One of my goals for this year is to be certified (no...not certified crazy :) Mahesh, Terry and Maria's brains are now "full"...but this time I didn't get a headache ;) It took two hours to get to class today and took two hours to get home last night.

...Time to go home :)
