One of the busiest airports in the world. I'm about to board a Delta Connections flight to Kansas City (MCI).

Because I'm on a regional jet for this segment, I'm out on an extension terminal - what my boss calls Gilligan's Island - of the airport.

I enjoy travelling quite a bit. It's a good time to catch up on listening to music. That is, to be able to spend time concentrating on one or two new albums that I haven't focused on in detail. Today's pick is Peter Gabriel's new CD 'Up'. Four and a half stars out of five.

I'm planning on updating several times today.

I am currently at Austin Bergstrom Airport, on my way to Kansas City for a quick project review for a few hours this afternoon. I'll then be headed to Chapel Hill, North Carolina tonight.

Austin Bergstrom is probably one of my favorite airports. Aside from it being my home airport (which is really only comforting when returning), the paging and sound systems were designed by the company I work for (though, before I was there). ABIA is a nice roomy concourse with lots of huge windows, allowing it to be naturally lit during most operating hours, and providing a beautiful seat for a morning sunrise (at least I can find some good reason to be here so early). Austin also has some of the best food of any airport I've ever been in besides maybe DFW or London (Gatwick and Heathrow).

Bwahah! Boarding has started. So as my last note for this update I will also point out that this week I should hit my segment limit to become Silver Medallion. Kind of exciting...can you say free first class upgrades?!

I drove to New Braunfels today for work. New Braunfels is about forty minutes south of Austin by interstate. I decided to take the slightly longer scenic route of rural highway 281. I couldn't have picked a better day. After a week of rain and gray overcast days, I woke up to blue skies and a perfect temperature today.

The 'Last Chance Saloon' is exactly what you would expect to find on a rural highway in central Texas. 4 walls, 2 barbecue pits, 3 pickup trucks at 10am, and plenty of beer.

I've been reading over my team's posts from today. It took me quite a while. If you're not on our team, you might as well forfeit right now.

We'll, after a few short hours of sleep, I'm back in the air. I'll keep this post short, as my hiptop charger was in my checked baggage, which sat at the airport all night. Knowing Delta, it probably won't arrive with me in Kansas.

These are pictures of the gorgeous sunrise from the plane. I can't tell if they've come out or not. There are some very beautiful cloud formations to the east.

Oh! Gotta go! I just lost my last bar on my battery.
