I ran across a funny quote from a review of the trailer for the upcoming movie, Alien vs. Predator. They started talking about aliens and someone said:

A new restart of the "Batman" franchise under the helm of "Memento" Director Chris Nolan and more in tone with the early "Batman: Year One" style comics. As a boy a young Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of his eyes, a trauma which led him to become obsessed with revenge but his chance is cruelly taken away from him by fate. After disappearing to the East where he seeks counsel with the dangerous but honorable ninja cult leader known as Ra's Al-Ghul, he returns to his now decaying Gotham City overrun by organised crime and dangerous individuals manipulating the system whilst the company he inherited is slowly being pulled out from under him. The discovery of a cave under his mansion, and a prototype armoured suit leads him to take on a new persona, one which will strike fear into the hearts of men who do wrong - he becomes, Batman. In the new guise, and with the help of rising cop Jim Gordon, Batman sets out to take down the various nefarious schemes in motion by individuals such as mafia don Falcone, the twisted doctor/drug dealer Jonathan 'The Scarecrow' Crane, and a mysterious third party that is quite familiar with Wayne and waiting to strike when the time is right.

More info on Batman Begins. I'm hoping this movie is good. Batman is going to be played by Christian Bale who was in Equilibrium which was really cool. Batman Begins is coming out the summer of 2005 and there's already talk of a sequel, or is it called a pre-sequel because Batman Begins is a prequel. How exactly does that work?

I've been sitting in my car in a line of cars for 45 minutes. I'm trying to get my oil changed and car inspected. This is taking WAY too long. Ooh, yay, the cars are moving! Now I've only got one car in front of me. This is still not how I wanted to spend my late morning. Oh well.

There are many reasons why my wife and I probably aren't going to have any kids. Today, I just found another reason. Chances are, if a kid has my genes in him something like that would happen eventually.

I once hit one of my older brothers over the head with an NES controller because he repeatedly paused the game while I was jumping over holes while we were playing Mario Brothers. As soon as he would unpause it I would fall straight down into the hole and die. It was one of those mean tricks you could only do as 1st player.

It wasn't my proudest moment as an eight year old but in my defense I did warn him that if he did it again I'd hit him. And he didn't bleed that much. That was one of the two times in my life that I actually hit him. Oh yeah, and he never did it again.

I read this article today and just couldn't believe it. People are thinking of making "stamps" for emails to cut back on spam. It would only be around a penny but can you imagine the revenue that would come in to whoever collects those millions of dollars over time? And guess who's leading the campaign? Yep, Bill Gates himself. Imagine that.

My day just got a little more interesting. My brother sent me a link to a trailer for a movie coming out it Japan around April. It's called Casshern. From what I can tell it's taken from an anime story in the 70's. I think the general plot is that these AI robots are made to control pollution and they end up revolting against the humans. The only person that can stop them is the character Cashern because he's part android.

I may be a little off with the plot. Has anyone else heard anything about it? Or can anyone translate the trailer? The visuals look really cool and I hope it comes to the states in some form.

It's a pretty slow day here in the Nation of Hiptop. I guess everyone is having a day like mine. I've been at work since 8am and I'll be here until 5pm just like every other day. It hasn't been a bad day, just one of those ones you don't want to deal with. Maybe I'll fake sick and leave early. Eh, they'd never believe me. Well, back to the excitement, intrigue, passion and exploits of warranty claim processing!

After almost a year and a half of service with my trusty sidekick I got my first junk mail today. And on top of that it was a virus. Someone sent me the W32.Beagle.E@mm virus. I wonder if they know that the Sidekick can't get them? Probably not. All I'm really hoping is that this doesn't become a trend. I'm hoping someone just got lucky on this one. Only time will tell.

And in the good news department it appears that at 22:30 CST last night all my webhost's issues have been resolved. After sporadic outages all weekend my site should be back up for good now. I am pleased.
