One of our bedroom windows wasn't sealed properly when our house was built. With all the rain lately water has been pouring off the roof, against the window, down the inside of the wall, and then halfway across the room under the carpet.

Luckily, we bought a brand new house so we don't have to pay for anything. Once the weather is dry they'll seal the window, replace the carpet pad and anything else that got wet, and put everything back together. Hopefully it will go that smoothly...

In the meantime, my wife and I moved into the upstairs guest bedroom and our dresser and many other items are going to be living in our livingroom. Our house is a huge mess right now.

That's weird regan, I just saw Children of Men yesterday and started reading the book about ten minutes ago. I bought it at Barnes & Noble this morning. So far so good but I'm only a few pages in...I'll let you know what I think when I finish it if you want.

So far this week has been great. We had Monday off for MLK Day, Tuesday we got an ice storm come through so we couldn't go to work, and today it still hasn't cleared out so we didn't go to work again. It's clearing up today so we'll probably make it to work tomorrow. That means we get a two day work week. Not bad. That's what happens when Texas gets ice and snow, we just shut down...

Oh, and here is a video of our dogs playing in the ice and snow, if you ever wondered what dachshunds do when it's cold.

The grocery store is strangely busy today. It's supposed to get cold, wet, and icy by Monday so that's probably why. It only gets icy on the roads once a year in Texas so people kind of freak out. It's really quite funny.

Glancing through my pics today I noticed how dark the sky is. That week it rained pretty hard but I never noticed the sky.

I managed to avoid getting sick for the past month or so. Everyone else at work had their turn. I thought I was in the clear since even my wife was sick last weekend and I didn't get it. Nope, waking up Friday morning I knew I had it. Suck.

Lots of soup, water, and movies this weekend...

We were out shopping this afternoon and saw Santa and his reindogs. It's a guy who dresses as Santa and drives a motorcycle. He pulls a trailer behind it with two Weimaraners dressed as reindeer. I'm not sure if he's local to Austin or not but we see him around almost every year.
